And the survey says…
I recently conducted a preliminary online survey of several babson students. A few were friends of mine, but many were random. Leave a comment if you want the excel document used to calculate these results emailed to you. Here is the executive summary of some of the findings:
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 79% of students party off campus 3 times a month or less
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 69% of students think that there are few or no on-campus social event options
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 74% of students disagree with the Central Source policy
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 76% of students disagree with the No Drinking Games policy
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 68% of students agree with the statement:
“I drink at Babson because there’s nothing else to doâ€Â
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 89% of students agree with the statement:
“I drink at Babson because it makes events seem more funâ€
-Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 83% of students would never go to a Knight Party sober
-         In a list of 26 words that would describe a social life (11 positive, 10 negative, and 5 neither), a negative word was chosen 72% of the time, and a positive one only 5% of the time. The most popular word chosen was “repetitiveâ€.

Just as I suspected…
it’s proof that we arent just speculating.
very important to have the number of responses – otherwise the administration will just brush it away.
i’m not surprised by the results though.
ya, it was a preliminary survey of 40 rando’s. i want to do a campus wide one, but the online survey thing that was free only allowed for 40 respondants. none the less, still some decent figures. i’d love to have a campus wide one go out… but i wouldnt want it to be brushed off as “just another marketing survey” god i hate those…
40 is pretty good … but yeah, campus wide would be great. what about advertising the survey on facebook instead of sending an email?
i’d throw down – but i don’t think it’s that much at all. def worth the price for the information…. i mean, this the information that the school has been withholding from us.
