myspace chick

“Perhaps you should spend your time studying. From what I have experienced as a graduate student, babson is a great school. Good idea for a business tho… I’ll give you that.” ~myspace chick

i dont have a myspace account, but can someone grill this girl? DEEP BREATH* k first off this chicks a grad student, and makes a comment on the school itself. clearly this is run by undergraduate students based on the giganticly popular topic of social life and OCL. the entire premise of this idea is that this is kids who feel strongly enough about the wrongs that occur on this campus that they are willing to invest not only their time, but sometimes their money as well, to at the very least shed light on certain wrongings that this campus commits. given the fact that this site is about the UNDERGRAD experience on this campus, this chick feels like she can comment on that experience, having never partaken in it.

second, she begins her comment with an asinine statement, one that contradicts the very fiber that this site stands for. WE STUDY ARE ASSES OFF! for what? so that half this campus can have BELOW a 2.7 gpa, ultimately limiting the number of job offers that will go out to graduating classes? if youre not too busy studying, maybe the second thing she should recommend is “relax”. then at least she might be able to begin the understanding of the difficulties of “relaxing” on this campus. ive even written about how active students are here. the thing is we study are asses off, AND we have time, or at least make time, to start organizations or participate in organizations we feel strongly for, whether that be a greek organization, a sports team, a cultural organization, or crapcampus.com.

third, how on earth could we make money off this? maybe by selling adspace on the site you can cover the costs of the website or perhaps selling some tshirts, but in the end the biggest cost is a time cost. im not paid to write on this blog, nor are any of the other writers. our contributions are an intellectual one, and our payment is the satisfaction of knowing that other people, more specifically OCL and incoming students realize the faults and pitfalls of this institution.

fourth, why does she complement us on our “business idea” if she thinks this is such a great school?

i guess thats it. im gonna write about a party i was at on friday now.

I’m glad you saw this! I’ll have to show you some of the other messages I’ve gotten from grad students…

Anyway, about the “myspace chick” you speak of. I was going to leave a comment on her myspace page, but it seems as though she added me as a friend, left the comment, then defriended me! So I couldn’t comment on her page! C’mon now…

Just to backup Sero, I checked over our income statement. Expenses greatly outnumber our revenue. (Not too hard of a calculation, because revenue is currently at $0)

This is more like community service for the greater good of teenagers and young adults.
