why does this school spam everyone so much? we get 15-25 emails a day, and like 95% of the time, its either from benny belvin the intern idiot, or from some organization you dont belong to. what do you think schools do when they have 25,000 students and over 500 clubs and organizations? THEY CONSOLDATE ANNOUNCEMENTS! all you need is for one person on SGA (perhaps vp of communications or whatever) to have all the emails and announcements sent to at the beginning of the week. They make an email with all the shit thats goin down that week, and people can check their section to see if anythings happening. this would take about 45 minutes out of the VP’s week, and we wouldnt have to sit here and wear down the delete key from finger blasting the shit out of it.

I remember at one point we got some sort of email that listed the events for the week. Maybe that was last spring, I can’t remember. But I actually looked at those. Problem was, there were no fewer emails sent out. This was just in addition to all the others.
It’s an interesting idea, because as it stands now, my inbox is too cluttered to really notice the events that are happening.
ya, that was probably the event list for spring weekend. those are common. the thing is, with my idea, no one else would be able to send any other email. the only campus info-email would be the one that was compiled of all the others sent on the monday of each week. this whole, every organization gets 2 emails a semester thing is asinine and floods our boxes like its no bodys job. the campus admins should have their stuff put into that email too. so benny “i nut my pants over internships” belvin could have his fun in there too.
benny is retarded – but i think his emails are actually helpful. he’s not exactly the best person to be put in charge of this – (one person to get everyone internships… not very helpful) – but at least he makes the effort. he’s a good guy, i guess. never answered my emails to him though.
as for the spam – i couldn’t agree more. who reads all of it? i delete everything from campus life. thanks a lot, but i don’t want to go to your cookie-decorating event – i’d rather smoke pot until i forget that i go to such a moneygrubbing, racist, classist school. but you know, that’s my decision. other people like to drink – whatever gets you through, i’m not shitting on anyone’s life style.

I’m not talking about the spring weekend event lists, I’m talking about exactly what you recommend, aside from the ban on other email (which is necessary.)
They did it for 3 weeks I think, I remember when it was mentioned during SGA meetings. But it disappeared soon after…
(not that anyone would have noticed these emails from amongst all the others)
And what’s with all these school closing/check-out emails? Do we need to get one each day?
