OFFICIAL SGA ELECTION ENDORSEMENTS
With only one summer and one semester left at Babson, I still haven’t given up on this place. So now, is actually a critical moment for us to step up and attempt to take the necessary actions in order to increase the effect of our outcries here at OCLruinedmycampuslife.com. There are people who are, I guess, sympathizers with the writing staff and our sources of negative Babo intel. You can find them amongst the SGA Electoral Ballot, but if you’re like most babson students, you’re either to huddled in a ball in your room from last nights drinking, nose to the grindstone, busy cranking out IME projects or the likes, or you really just don’t want to take the time out of your otherwise meaningless day to vote. For those of you reading this, please allow me to make a few suggestions for you:
VP of Finance
This one is really a toss up but I put my money on Eric Shahinian. Why? The guy is really the least tool-like looking of the two guys and as for Sabrina, sorry, not that I know you either, but I really just don’t see anything worth supporting. Its just politics.
Eric wants a budget expansion. I’m all about that.
VP of Commerce
Whoever this is needs to do whatever the fuck it takes to get a fuckin 24 mini mart style store to be student run and also allowed to cell some fuckin ciggarettes too. IT WOULD BE A FUCKING DIAMOND MINE in terms of revenue generation. For fucks sake. My fucking reccomendation goes to Erin Connery. Though he lived down the hall and he was a messy fucker, he didn’t bitch about me being a smoker. Props broseph.
Now somebody, I don’t care who, get me my fuckin minimart, BEFORE 2008. I kinda do want to see how much ole’ Barefoot will swing with now. Not that I would test the guy or anything…
VP of Communications
No freshmen, go with Mikaela. She’s also accessible from within my CrapCampus Network so she is definitely someone we could communicate with.
VP of Campus Activities (things are starting to sound important…)
Jesse Morris. Thats it. He says it for himself and I likes the way he says it. “I plan to take large strides in the social atmosphere of this campus, with diverse and plentiful attendances to all of our events and activities. I want to see a change happen on this campus. I want to see the pulse of life relax.” This is also someone who has been much more socially visible at partys and other functions. Not that I know him, but I’ve definitely seen him around a lot more than his competitor Robin.
Go with Jesse, he’ll at least acknowledge Babson needs to change.
Executive VP
If everyone knew Caroline Gaulin as well as us here at O-Tower and my male and female friends at Babson Rugby, then there wouldn’t even be a competition. This girl definitely wants to actively work towards the improvement of this campus. I personally plan on using her as one of the strongest campus voices to be heard. Caroline’s voice for the student body and campus life is second to only one.
That one person more reachable, sympathetic, and more capable would of course be my vote for president. So make sure you vote Caroline to give him the powerful staff he needs, because I think it could be a landslide for the top seat of power.
THE PRESIDENT
NO BULLSHITTING AROUND HERE. I WILL PULL NO PUNCHES ON CALLING PEOPLE OUT!
one by one, I’m running these bitches down like a fuckin mack truck.
First Victim – Luilly Andrade
You don’t party here man. Do you even live here? I’ve hardly seen you up until you started putting up campaign signs. YOU’RE NOT IN THE PUBLIC EYE ENOUGH. I don’t know you, so I don’t care. You’re online ballot statement is so weak! Honestly, who here gives a fuck about the DUCK TOURS?! Nice try son, but I can’t even say your name much less bump into you to see what you’re really like. Honestly, by looking at you in the picture you submitted and the bits I’ve seen you around campus, you may be too BISO to take this spot. Let someone older than you take this, they probably have a better understanding at what to do.
NEXXXXXXXXTTT Victim – Betty Chen
You have all those plans… for a year? Get focused because we will soon realize how useless your so called administrative ties are. I’d like to hear from your victims while you were an RA because I know you think that this social scene is already outta hand. And furthermore, nowhere do you address the issues of community here. The least you say is that you’ll provide an online discussion board. Let me tell you something, neither faculty or students use these other than for a mandatory class tool. We have enough trouble getting people here where they are actually allowed to speak freely through anonymity!
I sincerely hope that no one even votes for her. Yeah she’s an overachiever, but she don’t know shit for whats important to governing this student body.
Hit the brakes now, we have a winner.
DAVE YARUS FOR PRESIDENT!Dave, I’m sorry I haven’t gotten that write up for college party, but I might actually start it after I finish this. Anyways, obviously dave and crapcampus are in close communication with dave as he is one of the only people in my time here in Babson that has done such a fantastic job at actually making the social life just a tick better. Even if its just with his presence at your party with a camera, Dave knows how to throw shit down.
I assure you all. You can trust that Dave can do what he says, and he will definitely make an impact on the social atmosphere and fun factor, especially with the new incoming president. Dave is charismatic and also one persuasive ass son of a bitch. He’s also well experienced in the issues that matter to us. So vote Dave Yarus. PLEEEEASSSSEEEE!
Now to be nice I’ll say good luck to you all and don’t get hurt if you don’t win. And if you get hurt by what I’ve said here, then come here and I’ll give you a hug and let you cry on my shoulder but in all honesty, grow up. Its only politics. To my fellow writers, post your support or suggestions in the comments.
Looking forward to Marathon Monday,
Reverend Esby

Great post, I was thinking about something along these lines, where we Crapcampusters tell it like it is as far as SGA elections.
First off, I welcome the candidates to post some comments here, about how you’ll address some of the issues we bring up. Let’s hear it.
Caroline Gaulin and David Yarus. The Reverend summed it up nicely. Not much more to say on their behalf. Just go vote for them.
Don’t vote for anyone that put up stupid signposts in the otherwise nice flower gardens or anyone that spray painted their name on shit in black spray paint. That’s fuckin annoying.
For VP Campus Activities, nothing against Jesse Morris, but don’t write off Robin just yet. I can see her making some positive changes, too.
Oh and anyone that says “I’ll change this and this and this and everything will be great,” have no clue what they’re doing. We hear those same claims every single year. Look for someone with specific plans that could actually be put into action. I especially liked Yarus’ campaign posters addressing specific issues.
What else… oh yes, the online discussion board! Ever use the blackboard discussion boards?? Probably not. They suck and no one will use them. Sending out some Ugrad emails saying “hey, check out this SGA-sponsored discussion board cause it’s nifty!” isn’t gonna change things.
And anyway, we already have this site for that purpose. Plus that business blog idea someone had – that’s already beginning at http://babson.biz – So come up with something we haven’t done!!
(Although I do encourage everyone to do whatever they can to better the entrepreneurship program here.)
Independent study credits for student-run businesses? Hell yes!! I’ve been waiting for that for a while. Make it more accessible!
Go now and vote! Yes, we at CrapCampus are telling you to vote! Do it.
Need more incentive to vote? The elected leaders don’t just hold Wednesday night meetings, they actually get paid for doing so. So if you don’t want your tuition dollars going to some toolbag, vote for someone good!
do they really get paid?! How much?! I cant believe they havnt made that more public.
The few things I would like to adress:
a. Robin is a hippie, jesse is a fratboy. who do YOU think would be more creative?
b. Luigi cannot possibly run anything, let alone the most important student group on campus, if he thinks that spraypainting the brick walls and main sign at Babson is… well, socially acceptable.
haha… nice one, stillfly.
with all due respects to jesse – i don’t really know him – i voted for robin just because she showed more enthusiasm in her campaign. we need people to get in there and work their asses off and robin has shown to me that she can do it.
this campus needs more hippie themed events. like glass blowing demonstrations, indoor gardening courses and a hemp shop in that fme store in reynolds. (just kidding, just kidding … …. well, not entirely.)
pretty much agree with everyone else. freshmen should not be allowed to run, putting ‘class of 2010′ in your statement is almost guaranteed to make you lose the election. will they ever learn? plus, next year – please, for the love of god, don’t ever buy facebook ads. i’ve seen that kid’s face way, way, way too many times.
yarus will win, to the surprise of nobody. i just hope he’s committed to the job.
luigi – what the fuck were you thinking man? your signs were dumb enough. now you’re destroying school property? dude, i hate this place but even i wouldn’t resort to graffiti.
bong rips 4 jesus,
elliott
Did you ever really read the issues these folks were talking about, and wonder how the hell could they, as studentsactually make some of this stuff happen? They are not God, they are not the College Prez, not even on the Board… I’ve seen some posters indicating they would do this thing, and that thing, and some of them are technically imossible, idiotic if you understand how colleges work, and are just more of the “tell the people what they want to hear then screw them when you win.”
Why didn;t someone run on the platformt hat they would close down campus government, CAB and the rest. REFUND all the PILES of money that go into it, and let those go getters on campus run events – which they would get paid for if peolpe actually wanted to go to them, out of the funds we got back.
Centrally Funded Anarchy… sounds nice, but even I, an actual anarchist (in ideals), wouldn’t pursue that.
But we do need those go-getters in office. So vote for Davy Yarus please.
thats Dave Yarus. Sorry dave
Ms. Amazing, it would be nice if you could specify an issue or a poster that you are talking about., rather than generalize. their motivation and and drive to get those things done is commendable, and someone with your beliefs probalby doenst know much about what i and isnt possible as a SGA or CAB rep. have you ever even been to an SGA meeting?
if you truely believe that things would work without CAB and SGA, im suprised you got into babson…
Oh, like increase wireless bandwidth, like redo the 24 hour study room in the library (and extend library hours as well), no classes on friday, the sort of thing that NO student, whatever a title, can ever have much of an impact on. It is just like any politician saying what people want to hear, even though they (and they SHOULD KNOW) what is possible or not for a student organization before running. Will SGA provide the funding to hire more staff to keep the library open and spend the time looking for people willing to work until 2AM? A bigger band on campus (hmmm, who is going to pay for that, or start the negotiations needed to actually book a big name in time). Or just give students the option of picking a concert they want to see, and provide everyone going their ticket and a bus to and from the place.
As to anarchy- no, it is a market driven system (Hello? Babson?) . Right now if Band X comes to Babson and most people have no desire to see them- you still pay for it. In a free market environment, the STUDENT as an individual gets to decide where their money is spent.
Want to go to a lame show here? or take the money saved by not having to get a band, get cops, pay the agents, etc. and go to a band YOU WANT TO SEE.
Think many of the Reynolds events are lame and a waste of your money? You still pay for them. Otherwise you could come up with a great idea for a program- run it, and if you were any good you’d make money. Good ideas are rewarded, lame ones not so.
And as to SGA and CAB- yes, yes I have been to some meetings. I abide by the idea that people who WANT to be in charge are the ones least suited for it. Some, but not all, of student officers are such tools it’s amazing they don’t lose money with poor accounting… Oh wait- that happened…. Its like the people running might be so screwed up they go around and spray paint things.. oh wait, that happened. How many running for office ONLY want it on their resume so as to get a better job. I am particularly cynical as I was in my High School SGA and thought things would be different.
I just resent my having to pay a mandatory “FEE†for being entertained, like I was in 5th grade, for crap I have no desire at all to see or do. All I am saying is cut out the bullshit middlemen, and let students decide, via the free market, what events should take place.
Now don’t get me going about money going to ports teams….
Anarchy does not roc- Capitalism does!
Fuck Third Eye Blind.
Rev,
Haven’t seen a post lately. Would love to hear more of your stuff. Blog on!
