The Real Judge of Babson Pride
People can say all they want, but the real deciding factor is when they put time and/or money into a cause. And judging by the senior class gift pledges, people aren’t feeling the need to support Babson.
As proof, I bring you the senior class gift participation meter…

Yes, that is a mere 16%
*as of 4/15/07
If everyone pledged to donate $5 it would raise participation and look really good, but seniors just aren’t into it (and for good reason.) This isn’t a fault of the seniors, it’s a fault of the school.
In other words, it’s a pretty good indicator of how nice Babson has been to us…

ha, i remember that. pathetic. hope it stays that way. btw, this school jams us for $200 grand and then wants us to give more?!?!?!?? i dont give a shit about our class gift…unless its a tuition refund.
That’s a great idea!
For any seniors pledging a gift, put “Tuition reimbursements for seniors” in the ‘where you want this gift to go’ box.
Babson is your school your degree. You probably don’t care about the class gift because you spent four years in your room coming up with this stupid website and didn’t enjoy yourself. Wake up.
iheartbabson, this site has been around for two years, and it only took a day to get the idea.
I guess you “probably” don’t have a clue what we’re doing.
I think this thing is up to about 20% now. At first, I thought about how pathetic that is, that it likely won’t even get near 50% by graduation. But then I realized it hasn’t been this high in years. How pathetic is THAT?
Actions speak louder than words. And so far, people aren’t acting on donations. I don’t blame them. There is no feeling of being part of something at Babson. You just sort of go to school here and that’s where the connection ends.
iheartbabson is probably retarded. We don’t care about the class gift because it’s a waste of money. Not to mention, if we donate a few bucks, then Babson says donate more. If we don’t donate, then we get asked why. Which one do you think helps get more things done around this school? Keep in mind most of us don’t have millions of daddy’s dollars sitting around in a trust fund waiting for us to piss it away. So believe it or not $5 is worth a lunch or a couple gallons of gas, and eating and getting to work tend to be more valuable to me than the security of knowing my money went to something completely useless.
