The library is a joke. I wonder how much Babson spent on that useless flag fountain...and I wonder how much the library could have been improved using that money. We ALL have been kicked out the the library and had to scramble to find a place to finish a group project. I'm not surprised Bentley passed us after hearing about their improvements. I honestly believe we can become ranked in the top 15 if the admin started listening to our needs!

And some people scoffed at Bentley beating Babson in the rankings partly due to their better facilities. Considering how much time we spend in the library and doing group meetings, that seems pretty important IMHO.

Interestingly, Babson's rival, Bentley has a newly renovated and updated libarary seats 700, wi fi or 120 computer workstations, 24 hour study group rooms, and you can reserve rooms using the Bentley website. Besides that, the library also houses a cafe if you need that caffeine boost.

can't say i disagree.

why is it that the only negative feedback we get is childish and immature? (aside from our mysterious 'community member' who i wish would resume posting.) it's almost too easy to respond to their drivel. people bitch at us for not doing our part - but then they don't even take the chance to sit down and respond to what we write in a meaningful fashion. instead, it's just 'you suck/you're a pussy/blahblahblah/you're not doing anything.'

it's all kind of funny, kind of sad.

one day they will come to the realization that they missed an opportunity to help improve their campus. but until then - i hope you guys keep writing and getting your opinion heard. there's no reason why we can't try and make babson into the school we want it to be.

thanks dude.

Once again its the time of year when gup studeny rooms become like gold. Over the past 4 years I have seen the number of study rooms in the library slowly cut back. Sometimes for offices, sometimes for classrooms, sometimes for.. well god knows what.

Why can't the administration realize they give us all these GROUP projects, and we have to meet in GROUPS (often too big for most dorm room's fire code). They have put plasma screens in most of the rooms, but for some reason not in a few on the second floor. This is yet another case of millions for stupid admin shit, and not one thin dime for actual student needs.

There are always rumors of them building a new classroom building on campus. We don't need that. We have enough classrooms, just too many faculty that refuse to teach except in time slots that THEY prefer.

What we need instead, is a group study building. A building of decent group study rooms with screens, laptop hook ups, and an online system of scheduling so they are no fights over who has what room.

I would also propose that the Writing/math/speech Centers be moved there in one cluster as I am sure that would end up being a lot more efficient.
